Trip to Uttara Kannada

Our team was planning to have a trip to Humpi. We where ready with vehicle to visit Humpi then things changed due to the things which was not in our control. One of our impotent person in the team Pradeep has to cancel his trip due to his father’s health. We took some time checking places near to us, altlast we decided this destination Uttara Kannada.

Gokarna:

We stated with our small team of 4 Murali, Tejaswi, Rithesh and me. We started our first destination Gokarna, we took the root Udupi , kundhapur Kumta Gokarna and managed to reach there around 11.00PM.

We got up morning and get ready for the day. We went to temple in Gokarna there and spent some time there. Then we went to beach exact behind the temple and spent some time in the shops there. It is very sad to know that people in the shops there talk to people who come there from out side India.

We thought of walking to Om beach from Gokarna beach, since we did not had time to walk for 4 km. We took drive way to Om beach to reach there. It was my second visit to this place, I had come to this place as team outing. There are good beaches around Om beach. When Murali and Rithesh went to see to enjoy in the beach water then me and Tejaswi tried to walk to next beach(half moon) next to mountain. We walked for some distance and could see the destination beech view. Since the destination was too far to make it in our time fram we spent some time enjoying the great view what we see from there and returned to Om beach. After lunch we left Gokarna as our next destination was Yellapura.

Yellapura:

In Yellapura our first destination was Jenu Kallu Gudda which is a sun set view point in a hill top.

We managed to reach the place in time. When we reached there we got surprised by great view of sun set where once can see sun falling between the hills. The place ended a bit disappointing when hunny bee started biting people over there. I got beaten by around 4 or 5 bee’s, we just rushed to our vehicle and left the place. Once we reached Yellapura we consulted Doctor and took some medicine as a safety. We stayed the night Nisrga Resort (9902719233, 9731326841) in yellapura.

Morning we left Sathodi falls which is around 28km from Yellapura. One has to drive in the forest to reach the destination and walk for around one kilometer.The entry in the falls dos’t prohibits alcoholic content to carry inside, they do checking before one enter the place. I am very scary person to go in the falls and opted to have place very far to the place water fall. All team spent a good time there and had our lunch near falls. After having lunch we spent some time near the water stored due to the dame built for the river. I don’t know what I should call water stored in the dame, but the view was excellent. One can enjoy the nature where water is surrounded by hills and forest.

Next destination was Sahasra Linga which was very near to Sirsi.

Team is still planing and waiting to make a trip to Hampi.We had a great time and enjoyed. The
place we visited was filled with nature, pepole who like to enjoy nature

Gokarna, Sathoddi Fallsc& Sahasralingeshwara

Day 2 Chikmangalore

We got up early in the morning and left the room at 7.00AM. We took a guide to goto some of the places there. It was very misty and we stopped our vehicle in a dead end of the road and started to walk in a narrow path way. I walked to certain distance and did not find dare to go front even I was got some bite from leaches.Me and two of my friends waited near vehicle for rest of our team who went ahead to enjoy the place.

The team rejoined when people came back after visiting Z-point and left for Rajbavan(old mining place). It is a good place. We had our brackfast and left for our next destination Dathapeeta.

The road from Kemmanugundi to Dathapeeta is very narrow and horible to drive. We took more then 2 hours to cover a distance of 40 Km. Even though drive was horrible we enjoyed spectacular view driving in a narrow road runs in mountains and a great view of the nature. This is my first experiance travaling in narrow mountain roads. This was my best moments in my hole trip.

The time was 12.45 when we managed to reach Dathapeeta. We could not managed to go into the temple. We moved some distance in mountain to reach Manikyadhara. It is good place to visit. In such a high mountain there is a water flling. I am really sorry to say but it is true “as a custome pepole who take bath in the water falling they need to leave their cloth there”. Even people there don’t take that out of sight.

We had thought of going to Mulainegari but did not had sufficent time left with us. We returned from there back home.

We took root to Aldur-Balehonuru-Sringari-Agumbe-Udupi.

Jog&Chikmagalure

Day 1 : Jog

We had taken the boarding in Jog. We don’t want to miss early morning view in Jog. Even though we gone to sleep very late in the night after a long jurny we got up early morning 6.00 AM. We left room at 7.30.

We spent some 30 mints watching early morning view in Jog. It is a fantastic experience, when we reached there view was clear and we could see the things very clear. On our surprise after some time suddenly mist started covering the hole place.Since we could not see any thing we went for our brackfast. Since there is no other place to have food we had our brackfast in the canteen there.

We don’t had any plane to to get the view and move to our next destination, we want to explore the place. We haired a guide to get some help. With the help of the guide we started to explore the place.

We started with power generation view point which is very near to falls.

Then we went to British banglow another view point. from there to exact top of the water falls. There one can see the straight view to falls bottom.

Then we went to Talkal(near Kargal) dame. It is not a tourism place. there is a public transport(a small boat) by travailing in that one can see the near view to the dam. It was a great experience traveling in250feet high water level.

One can not go to Liganamakki dam but can see from view point this too near Kargal. We had our lunch in Kargal and started for our big expedition at 1.30 getting down to the base of Jog.

To go down to falls bottom half the way is one can find well constructed steps but from there one can go with his/her own risk. I am not comfortable with walking in those kind of places. I walked very care fully and manged to reach finally. The view is wonder full, all the 4 sides are surrounded by mountains. I did not dare to get into water there, I spent some time enjoying view and left. I know that I need more time to climb 2 Km to reach top, it took me around 45 mints.

We left 4.30 Jog, Our next destination was chikmangalore, exactly Kemanugundi.

It was around 11.30 when we managed to reach there. Due to bad road conditions we could not reach as we expected.

I am on a trip for 2 days.

This weekend I am planing to go for a trip with my friends. we are now 6 including me.

Present plane is goes like this.
1. We will get in to the tax we booked around 7PM tommorow.
2. Stay in Jog, next half day in Jog.
3. Some time places around Jog.
4. In the evening Chikmagalur.
5. Next day some places around there.
6. Sunday Evening back to place.

Monday get back to work.

I will update in detail when I am back from trip.
